Strange old 12 string Framus

Post by James Mc » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:51 pm

Just an interest item... There's an old 12 string Framus on ebay. Wild design... very strange but I love the side profile of the neck and headstock. Has lots of good photos and is worth a look.

Hey, I've got a similar one in 6 string with a smaller body, they turn up in Beatles folklore too, as both John and George played the twelve string ( with a kind of jumbo sized body on it, from memory ) and Keith too ...

I love Framus gear, they use incredible flamey timbers, and yet when it comes to necks, so many of them have this kind of matchstick laminate construction shown here. The crazy moustache bridge is a tone killer, but mine is a great rhythm recording guitar because of it's bright rock-hard neck and snappy sound ( not much in the way of 'range' or warmth )

Feist, currently touring here, plays one too ( 6 string, parlour size )

Good luck
