Hey all,
Hope everyone is well. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good website or shop where I can get a Gibson LP style replacement bolt on neck. My friend has given me his old guitar body and asked if I could have a go placing on a neck etc. So if any of you know a great place to get one please let me know.
Thanks heaps.
Ben
Gibson LP Replacement Neck
Re: Gibson LP Replacement Neck
Hi Ben, this is not as easy as it sounds.
For a start, Gibson has never used bolt on necks, so if the body is set up for a bolt on neck, it is not a Gibson
Unlike Fender there is no standard for scale length and neck pocket size etc for a lp copy with a bolt on neck.
He doesnt have the old (broken?) neck does he so you could check scale length?

Re: Gibson LP Replacement Neck
Hi Ben.
As Jeff has mentioned, some modification will likely be required and more info needed for a suitable replacement.
But that said, I'd say Warmoth would be your best bet. Perhaps something like this ?
http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/LP_ ... nNeck.aspx
Certainly the most likely to be able to custom make what you are looking for.
Hope it helps.
Jeremy.

I can do you a les paul / gibson shaped neck if you want, but you will need to modify it to fit and shape the headstock to suit.
