Has the micro radius adjust disappeared? Wasn't that the point?

The centre pin is adjusted using the sliding dovetail. It is a bit less fiddly than the original which had a slight problem of having to unscrew and screw the pin into the body for coarse adjustment.
Using a story stick method makes it very easy to adjust this one to cut both the channel and the veneer to inlay for the rosette.
Cheers from Micheal.

I was beginning to worry. Father's Day has gone, my birthday is a barely days away and I was thinking if Micheal doesn't get off his chuff soon, Christmas will be gone and I'll have to wait another whole year before I can get one as a present.

Having said that, that is a very, very nice looking tool. If it works nearly as well as the first version, it will become a "must have" for all luthiers.

Not that I was in the market for one of these, but the micro screw adjust, to me, was the differentiator that would allow you to charge what you'll need to charge to cover your costs on this. It seems to me that what you have now is a lot more glamorous, but little more effective, than one of these:

We all work in different ways and so have different priorities in our tools. The micro adjust was important to me so I built this:

It's a bit OTT, but the sliders run in linear bearings and the screw adjust is zero backlash. A tenth of a turn gives me 0.1mm radius adjust and a tenth of a turn back takes it back, exactly back, every time.

Makes this sort of stuff a lot easier to do.

I'd hate to see you miss your market.

Just my $0.02.

Gotta agree with Trevor on this. I was looking forward to something with micro adjust. As soon as I saw it, as beautiful as it looks, I wondered how I could attach a screw thread to the dovetail.
Cheers

With micro adjustment, I would buy one, otherwise its the same as the other 5 rosette cutters I have in my shop, just pretty and compact

I guess these will be micro adjustable story sticks, available as accessory, right? :) ;)

It was at precisely this time that Micheal and Allen suddenly realised that they were smack in the middle of every product developer's worst nightmare...

...they had breached their product's functional requirements specification #5.

A limited number of Rosette and Circle Cutters are now available.Get in quick before BOB sensors this post for being a Blatant advertisement of a new product by an unscrupulous operator working from a home sweatshop.Lucky it has a beer fridge otherwise I wouldn't go over there.

Here's a direct link to Micheal's order page.

And for some insight on how I use it there are some photo's as part of Building Honey's Uke. For me the perspex template is the way to go. Easy to make, and as you can see in the images, very easy to use for the layout.

That rosette was done with nothing more than the rosette cutter with the supplied blades, and a scalpel to slice cross grain on the stopped channels.

I am the proud owner of one of these tools. It's beautifully made and a joy to use. I just wish I had bought it before doing the rosette on my current build.

Mine arrived on Friday. Lovely piece of kit and beautifully constructed.

I can just imagine a few blokes in a hundred years time sitting around, having a beer and saying "What the f%$& do reckon this thing does?"

Thanks Michael.

Regards.

We aim to please, but no more deliveries until I get back from a few days away. Had to bring one with me to post the day before Xmas to the USA.No chance it would have gotten in before Xmas Day.
I hope you guys all get a chance for at least a practice with them over the break. :gui

These things are already, or on their way to the far corners of the planet. Don't imagine those fellows in the arctic circle are going to get theirs soon. One told me he was off to the cabin for Xmas. Driving some, and then having to cross country ski the rest of the way with packs on their backs  But I suppose he's probably a patient sort of bloke.
