Hi there,
I've got a bit of Lutz in the stash that i got from Shane a year or so back, i'm considering my next acoustic build and was going to use Engleman with Blackwood again but thought the Lutz might be a goer, does anyone have an opinion they'd like to share on the subject?
Thanks,,,
Rod.

Hey Rod, I used some lutz on a classical for a friend and it sounded great. I had a nice ring to start and the guitar is one of my best classicals. I like it. I have tested the material properties of a couple of lutz tops, 3 Engleman and 3 wrc. The lutz comes out around the same as the engleman with sized tops about the same mass once thinned to target thickness. One of them came out at the lowest finished mass of all the tops tested. I've only tested 2 tops out of about 20 I have so I would expect the see more variation but I have no problem using it. Not as white as engleman but beautiful silking across the whole top.
Cheers
