Re: Malaysia Spring
I really like those Jeffrey. What woods do you use? Can you tell us how each leaf is constructed?

Re: Malaysia Spring
Here are some idea how to make the leaves, you can also use other wood which has striking cross grain, the wood i used for the leaves are pine( green ) and rengas ( red ). You can also laminate together other pieces of colour wood to make other pattern you like.
First you cut and glue book match blank with a maple veneer in between and later shape it like a leave and bound it with another layer of maple veneer. Cut into slices of about 2mm thick and use them like other inlay materials. For the rosette, I inlay the leaves and later cut to size of the rosette using a router. I use superglue to seal the pores before finishing. Hope the pictures explained what I'm trying to say. Enjoy!

Re: Malaysia Spring
Beautiful work Jeff (as always) and very kind of you to share this great tip with us. Must ask if you would you mind posting a version of your method in our tutorial section? It would be a simple matter of copying and then pasting what you have shown here into a new topic.
