Rubners generally not cheap...theyre nice tuners though.

I suggested to Sergy that if ALS dont ship overseas then he could ship them to someone in here and they could on-ship items to him. I'd do it but Im stuck offshore working for at least next 4 weeks.

Not necessarily true when ordering directly at Rubner's - navigate through the menu at the left, the "classic series" (which is what I had ordered) are very good value, I'd say.

I had ordered custom made charango (10 strings) tuners (only 1 set!) and the price was +/- proportional regarding the number of tuner posts, e.g. a bit more than 166% the price of guitar tuners. The 150-110a-EB (by far not the cheapest Rubner machines, but not the most expensive either) for guitar costs 57€, 166% of that would be 94€, I paid 104€ (94€ + 10€ for custom service) plus shipping and taxes. Machines for 8 strings would be a 10€ more than 133% the price for "normal" guitar tuners. Rubner has a lot of upgrading options that can make their tuners expensive (base plate material, engraving, rollers, knobs, teflon bearings).

I recommend the Teflon bearing upgrade. The difference is like night and day. Much smoother operation. However, all levels, are mechanically the same from cheapest to most expensive. The only differences, other than the Teflon are cosmetic.
