Many moons ago i inherited a lifetime supply of the old Gillette safety razor blades along with some old tools and other odds and sods from an old uncle who had passed away. The old tools and odds and sods over the years have been put to good use at some time or other, the razor blades, still wrapped and in their packet were pushed to the back of the drawer because "nobody's ever gonna use them!" Wrong!!! I found that they work really well in a little jig to scrape bingings back after the first coat of colour has been sprayed. Some luthiers don't mask their bindings, spray the lot and then scrape them clean. but i like to mask as best i can but find that an acurate even line is best achieved with the help of a razor blade after all the masking has been removed, and then continue with clear coats.
Anyways i took some pics of my Gillerre blue scraper jig to show yooze.
