Sunburst on tassie blackwood?

Anyone have pictures of sunbursts on blackwood? I'm thinking....

Hello Rod

A Mandolin made by one of the guys in Albany

This is French polished with stain on black wood .... it's the only picture I have so not sure if it helps you. It looks better in reality and the grain / figure seems to take the stain quite well. It was a very good first effort .... I thought.

Hi Rod,

Just posted some pics of a blackwood uke in the gallery section.
For this sunburst I only used Black and Brown tones, I think it suits blackwood more, adding reds and yellows is too much colour.

I just add the dye to some Laq. and thin it down (70%thinner). I build the colour up with lots of passes. I set the fan of the spray gun to narrow and the volume low so I can spray close and accuratly at the edge.
