Soldering Iron

Post by Ben » Mon Aug 22, 2011 7:42 pm

Hi all,

I am looking at upgrading my very very cheap soldering iron and I have been recommended Weller from from friends at work who fix radios etc.

However I am not sure what size tip I should be getting? Is the smaller tip the better?

Cheers

Weller is good because the spare tips can be sourced from almost anywhere. And a good iron is still not very demanding on the pocket. However I like temperature controlled soldering irons

Is there any particular watts to get I have read that a lot of people recommend 40 watts.
