Black Heart Sassafras

What do you guys reckon would be the reasonable going rate for a slab of Sassafras for an electric guitar. So like 450mm x 380mm x 32mm?

Anyone know of any good sources of it?

The only guy I know to call would be Tim Spittle at Australian Tonewoods. At least it's going to be a fair price, and not some of the over the top lottery win type pricing I've seen on eBay of late.

I have heard that the log price has recently gone right up on black heart sassafras so you may find varying prices, you know, old stock new stock etc. From memory Anagote and Trend in Sydney stock it.

I recently bought some bits of fiddle back blackwood from Bob at Tassie tonewoods and he bent over backwards to get me what I wanted, they were not pieces for instruments but Bob has a good understanding of wood and you should get what you ask for. Black heart sassafras with a would be right up his alley. As for price all you can do is compare to find out what is reasonable at the time
