Acetone & Mirocat

Post by vandenboom » Tue Jun 21, 2011 8:37 am

I got a drop of supaglue on a mirocat finished top and decided to wipe it off with a dab acetone.
Was that a dumb thing to do? I have a bad feeling in my guts.
I can see this very dull spot in the region concerned. I am hoping that cutting it back will resurrect the finish/

I've never used Mirocat Frank so somebody here that has, such as Allen, may wish to more knowledgably comment, but I'm guessing that if it's only left a dull spot & not a pit in the surface then if you cut back in an around the area & give the whole top a buffing again you should be all good & not see any evidence. Another lesson learned  No supa glue directly over a finish! But it's easy enough done.

Yep. Just rub it back and buff.

I've been using superglue to drop fill my Mirocat finishes. It doesn't sink back like drop filling with the Mirocat
