After doing a final polish with Meguiar's 80 Mirror Glaze in finishing current guitar, I have found the finish a bit thin on parts of the sides and so want to apply a few extra coats of Mirocat. Do I need to do anything other than a wipe with Naptha before hand? i.e. Does the polish leave behind any residue that can get in the way? Perhaps I should give it a light sand with P800?
Thanks. Frank.

Re: More coats after polishing
I'd go a bit coarser then that Frank. Maybe 400.

You gotta be real careful with any glazes. I don't use the Mequires or any glaze for that matter, but many "Glazes" contain waxes and or silicones. You need to clean the instrument down very well first before sanding back. Otherwise you will just be grinding contaminates into the finish.
You absolutely have to abrade the finish prior to adding any more. Nothing coarser than P400 and nothing finer than P600. Finer will not do the trick as loss of adhesion will be likely without really knowing what you are doing.
