Finished Grand Concert

Post by Dave Anderson » Thu May 19, 2011 2:41 am

Hi guys and gals, It's been quite a while since I posted a new guitar here at the ANZLF.
I've been doing so much more repair work than building, but I finally finished her up!!
It has a Adirondack red spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides, Bubinga binding
and a five piece neck, gold fretwire, and the fb.,hs. overlay, bridge, and rosette are all Brazilian
rosewood.

Very tasty Dave. How stiff was the Adi and what did you take it down to.

The Braz peghead overlay looks wonderful.

I noticed a tree in the first pic that looks like it might contain some wood suitable for tops.

Regards
Bob, Geelong

Nice work Dave, love the pic with the river in the back ground, it looks like that guitar is just chillin on a Sunday arvo about to take a dip in the creek.

G'day Dave,

What a wonderful looking guitar mate!

Is it your own shape and is it 13.5" at the lower bout?

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Cheers

Thanks for the nice comments folks.

Bob, Yeah that is some stiff spruce-took it down to about .110 and she has a
loud and clear tone.Very responsive across the strings. I like it a lot and wish I
could keep her!

Alan, Yes this is my own shape that is similar to a Grand Concert size so that's
what I'm calling it for now. It has a 14.75" lower bout, a 10.75 upper, and a 9.25 waist.

Very beautifully designed and executed Dave.

I'd like to own one like that.

Jeremy.

thanks again Jeremy and Kim.
BTW, This guitar took a fall and the neck was dented in two spots so I've sanded
it down and I'm refinishing it.
