Printing Plans

Post by sapperpie » Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:03 am

Hi guys,

Curious to know where (if anyone does) they get their plans printed? I got quoted $75 for 1x A0sized plan and 1x A2sized plan at a place here in Brisbane. Does this sound reasonable? It almost seems it would be easier/cheaper to just buy them overseas and get them sent to me.

They do do same day printing though, so I guess that's a plus :)

Cheers,
Pete

Sounds utterly exorbitant to me.
Kim's call is good if you have Windows.
I'd be checking with some draftsmen to see where they get their building plans printed.

yep $4 for a double-bass plan is about what I pay. A little more for scanning and download to a USB key. But $60 is over the top, even in brisbane.

I use this sort of place and always get a few copies so I can mess one up and keep a good one rolled up.

You gotta be kidding!

PlanMan in Cairns starts at $1.95 . Never paid more than $2.50 each. Most times they do them while I'm standing at the counter. 5 minute turnaround. If I'm in a hurry I just drop them off and pick up later. Always the same day.

'Tis a good thing 'bout being unflash. I get good turnaround times when I stand at the counter waiting too   :cl :dru - where's the old and grumpy smelly? :D The odd passing of wind, belching and a bit of urgent scratching thins out the line of those waiting for service too

I have a funny feeling office works can print pretty big.
Me? We've got an A0 printer at work. It cost $30,000 so as long as the boss doesn't find it jammed up with instrument plans I'm all good :D

Well, I got a quote from the store Matthew linked me. $25 for 3 A0 sized plans and 1 A2. I think I know which one I will go with.

I might checkout office works too.

Cheers :)

I just happened to be on the Officeworks site recently to check about their printing and copying prices for some things for church, and remembered that there is a page of all their prices including plan-sized documents (at the bottom of the page):
