Adelaide International Guitar Festival

Post by J.F. Custom » Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:17 pm

Hi all.

Just noticed this bi-annual festival has just finished. Did anyone in S.A. (Martin?) or from elsewhere go along?

I noted a little time back they had a competition running with a combined first prize of $10'000 cash and a Jim Redgate Classical valued at $15'000. The results of which were on ABC news SA - you can see it here :

Be nice if there was more of the performances themselves. Anyone know of any further video of the final 8's performances? Was there a luthiers section anywhere? It's not a festival I am familiar with so I would be interested to hear.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

I didn't go along to any festival events.....too busy with other things here. Would have liked to have seen Richard Bona.....I love his stuff with The Pat Methany Group.

To my knowledge the only luthier orientated event was a seminar run by Jim Redgate. The festival is very much slanted towards performance rather than luthiery....I'd love to see this change.

So would I. We could all come to Adelaide and run amuck in your tonewood hangar.

I'll fly over to Marty's place and help him defend the stash with empty bottles of Borossa's best.. 8)
