The newest Luthier Tips du Jour instructional video is on Youtube. The topic is rosettes. Subtitles are available in both English and Portuguese and you can translate them into any other language by using the CC option on Youtube.

Another excellent Video Robbie. Clear & concise as ever & a few 'familiar' rosettes in there
. There's some nice work being done in this area & this vid will no doubt be useful for the future, not only as instructional tool for new builders but as inspiration for the rest of us. Thanks for posting.

I really loved this one Robbie. Very clear, as always. It is great to see that gallery of rosettes at the end - really inspirational, and makes me realize what a great sharing community the luthier world is.

...just loved it. One of my next "make your own" goals is rosettes, so the timing was great. If anyone has any links on methods, that could be useful for people.
I can see the "log of pieces to create a pattern" approach - does not look too difficult, but probably time consuming.
I imagine the single piece, more plain type are just routed out of a thin sheet. Does that sound right?
