A red letter day. Thank You Hesh Breakstone.
A red letter day. Thank You Hesh Breakstone.
Hesh,
Congratulations on the completion of your first BRW build. This certainly is a red letter day and as expected, marks the creation of yet another beautiful Heshtone guitar my friend. It is also nice to see such a lovely glowing set of BRW has ended up in the hands of a craftsman who has earned his stripes.
I known that there are many builders with more builds under their belt than you have mate, but IMHO, not too many of them would be that much more experienced. I say this because I have watched over the last 2 1/2 to 3 years as you have pulled the process apart with the same meticulously attention to detail that you display in your work and it is clear that you have harvested much from each and every step along the way.
I have witnessed this process, the one of you teaching yourself, with great interest. I watch as you carefully dine upon each build, eating the meat, and spitting out the bones, and in so doing, I have been fortunate enough to also enjoy a feast of information. So too have many others with an interest in our craft astute enough to understand when it is best to sit back and listen when one is asking the right questions.
The greatest benefit to our community of course is that you have also shown a determination and gift to then go on and share all the right answers with us in such a way as to offer some clarity to those muddy seas of opinion.
So with that now said I say, Thank You Hesh Breakstone, it has been a great journey for us all. You are a true gentleman and undoubtedly the noobs best friend. As for polishing your nuts, go knock ya self out and spend all the time you need Buddie, you deserve to spoil yourself for a while
Cheers
Kim

Thank You Kim!
Kim my dear friend - Thank You!
I don't know what to say.......
I did finish the BRW guitar yesterday and I am thrilled with it. Since then I have been playing it so much that my hands hurt now since I rarely play at all these days.
I will post a suite of pics and list of credits and specs later this week when we get some sun shine here.
So..... since I have this very bad habit of being inappropriate when I am at a loss for words how about if I post a picture of me polishing my nuts?
OK no jokes please that I had to use "micro" mesh or that one is darker then the other.........
Kim many, many thanks my friend!!!!

To be sure, Hesh is the most selfless builder I know when it comes to the free sharing of information... His tutorials are awesome and I always come away having learned something very valuable...
His guitars aren't all that bad to play either... I can't wait to try the 'newer' ones...

Kim, thanks mate, and thanks to the others as well, that was very well said indeed, Hesh is the friend that will never let you down so in a sense, he's more than a friend to all of us, he truly becomes a brother to each one of us.
Hesh, you have always been there for me and you know it is the same for me towards you man, well, today is a great day to say that we appreciate all that you do to make each one of us feel special and i'm proud to be part of your life.
Your a true luthier in every sense of the word except that you don't sell none of those stinkin' wonderful jewels of excellency in craftmanship and i kind of understand why, no one would be able to afford one because each build is PRICELESS by it's beauty and sound, you are truly gifted bro!
We love ya man!

I don't usually reply to threads containing pictures of Hesh's guitars... Keyboards don't work too well when soaked in drool
Hesh, your work is inspiring. Particularly to newbies like myself. Your "Heshtorials" are excellent. I find them to be clear, concise and with terrific images. They make learning the craft of Lutherie so much easier.
So, whenever I think of you Hesh, it's not only as an excellent tutorial producer, it's also as a purveyor of some outstanding guitarporn
