Re: monkeypod archtop
Nice! Got a few wrinkles in the back though, you may want to iron those out before going any further Laughing Laughing Stunning piece of timber Jeffery. Would you care to share the bracing layout with us? I often wondered how Bob laid out the bracing on his Blue guitar so would be interested to see your approach. Although it's not very clear from the image but your's looks like a flat top?

Re: monkeypod archtop
Yeah....what everybody else said ....just beautiful. How did you keep the binding so light ? It looks like timber and stain penetrates even under tape ?

Re: monkeypod archtop
Cool looking guitar Jeff and now that I know the "Monkey pod" that you so often use is Albizia saman (usually called Raintree here) I am inspired to use it. A friend has a live stump that measures about 800mm diameter and is about 2m long in their backyard. It was lopped at 2m as they wanted it to re-grow in a smaller form but they have now offered it to me in exchange for helping them do a bit of concreting around their home.

A common affliction Peter, but you are among fellow sufferers here so you are not alone Laughing LaughingPeter T wrote:

Like the Bursting Jeff, always a sucker for tobbacco type bursts and the contrast with the binding is just beautiful. Nice treatment of the Monkey pod.
Did you manage to dig out any pictures of the bracing at all? I'm keen to see how you got around the problem of soundhole position.
