I didn't think that would be my first post here but hey! I'll be at the Brisbane show with 3 of my basses. I'm sharing my booth with electric upright bass builder Bill Paulin.

Welcome to the forum Phil. Wish I was a bit closer to the venue. I'd love to drop in and have a look.

Came back from a fantastic week-end at the show. Met lots of great people and handed out craploads of cards. I'd be curious to know if other ANZLF members were there too.

I just noticed Localele who started the thread was there, I had a quick chat with him Saturday, nice ukes!

Of course it ain't real if there's no pics right? ;)

The Guitar Show was a great weekend with lots of nice people going through on both days. Here are a few shots of our stand. The inlay shots are by my mate Stuart and here is a link to his site http://newmanguitars.com .
I got to talk to some great luthiers and swapped a lot of info over the course of 2 days.A lot of big companies there Maton , Martin , Cole Clarke and some of the most inspiring work is done by sole traders like us.

Yeah, Stuart does some great work, and besides that seems to be a really nice guy.
I called in on his shop last year when I was in Byron Bay and he was really happy to shw me round and talk about his methods and philosophy of building.

I was there for the first time at the show as an exhibitor. Guitar Brothers ran it very well and were very helpful. They were as good as their word on their website where they say that they support small local luthiers like us. I was pleased to meet Michael at the show for the first time and Stuart who I had met before. Their displays were very good indeed. I was just down the "street" from them. Although we had no sales I feel it was worth the effort and many good contacts were made.
