Plug for a Aussie Supplier

Post by Allen » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:42 pm

I was in the market for some shellac, and trolling through some posts I found references to a couple of local suppliers. One recommended by Sebastiaan looked good, but their web site was not working on several occasions I tried to order.

The other was "Goods and Chattles" recommended by James. I fired off an email to Jim on the Easter long weekend, expecting to get a response on Tuesday. To my surprise I got a response almost immediately. I was given a price list of the products I was interested in. I emailed back to say I'd take some de-waxed shellac and asked how to pay.

Another immediate response, and the package was in the mail I presume no later than Tuesday. It was awaiting me on my door step today after work. And as an added bonus, there were 4 lollies included with the tax invoice and product.

Their web site isn't the easiest to find stuff, but just email Jim, and ask for the product your interested in. He seems to be the type of person that goes out of his way to be helpful.

Yep Goods and Chattles are a great mob to deal with, been using them for over 20 years and the only place I've found in Australia that carries the gum I use in my shellac mix. Which reminds me that I need to get on to them and see if they can supply those reverse thread fitting thingo's for bolt on necks.

I let Jim at Goods and Chattels know about this thread, and he's very appreciative of it. He also mentioned that his web site is getting a make over, so should be more user friendly when complete.

He tells me that he has over 400 suppliers available to him so he's able to find lots of hard to source items. If you can't find it on the web site, just ask him.
