Terrible news for Colin Symonds.

Post by Kim » Fri Nov 28, 2008 11:29 am

Folks,

I just read the attached thread over at the OLF, sad news indeed.

http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/view ... 01&t=19808

I post tis here because I know Colin does not post here at the ANZLF anymore and though some who may have missed his post would like to know of his cruel accident.

Regards

Kim

Yow, don't know if I could deal with missing fingers very well. I am sure Colin knows we are with him on this.

terrible news

Colin posted a thread last month about a redwood / Cuban mahogany OM that he had just finished. It was really impressive. And his playing is equally impressive. For those who haven't had the pleasure of listening to this very fine guitarist, check out this recording of Colin playing the recently completed OM.

Its all the more impressive knowing that it was recorded after imbibing a fair amount of whisky.

We exchanged a few PMs about his approach to building - very helpful and informative. Colin is a gentleman, and a very talented luthier.

Colin, if you are reading this, I was very sorry to hear the news. Take care. Try to enjoy the R&R.

Alfred
