As Martin stated.
This grew bigger than anyone expected, and the fact you've taken it all aboard and done such a sterling effort for all speaks volumes.
Thanks Allen.

cheers, Stu

Yes yes, many thanks Allen. Also for the glue.

Can I just suggest we be careful with ER movements next week. The CPI comes out on Wednesday and what ever it says about inflation may move the markets including ER. Could go either way depending on the outcome so we shouldn't bet on it but we should just be aware of potential ER volatility next week and not put this order in when/if it has spiked down. With an order this size it could worth a few hundred bucks easy.

Hi Dom,

CPI will almost certainly be up and will probably cause more volatility and lower AUD.

But, we will see.

Hi Seb, yes it will be up but if inflation is higher (lower) than the markets expect it will keep interest rate differentials with the US higher (lower) and that should support (suppress) the dollar.
But it is a crazy world at the moment (although very interesting for economists) and we should just be aware.

I've just recieved a post from Bob with the following.
I have received a request from my supplier to round up the quantities to the following

Grade B Ebony Fret Boards - 6 +4 to 10
Grade A Ebony Bridge Blanks - 106 + 4 to 110
Grade A Ebony Head Plates - 27 +3 to 130

Grade A East Indian Rosewood Fret Boards - 53 +2 to 55
Grade A East Indian Rosewood Bridge Blanks - 81 +4 to 85
His supplier is wanting to round off the figures so we'll have extra of the following.
1 A grade Ebony Fret Board - SOLD TO BOB
4 B grade Ebny Fret Board - SOLD TO BOB
4 Ebony Bridge Blanks - SOLD TO BOB
4 Ebony Head Plates - 3 SOLD TO KIM STODE - 1 SOLD TO BOB
2 A grade EIR Fret Boards - ALLEN

Bob has asked me if there will be any takers on these items, otherwise he will tell them no. So here is you very last chance to top up your order. I'll let you think about it until Monday evening.

Done Bob.

I stuffed up the list. It should have said that there were 4 Ebony Head Plates available. Kim S. has 3 so there is 1 still available.

Allen, what are you doing about changes to the ER. It is around 70 today, higher than what we paid at but could go lower.
How about if we end up with a bit left over once the order is placed you can take that off the postage from you to us and if we end up owing you can add it.

Don't want anyone out of pocket.
Thanks again for the effort.

My plan was pretty much as you described Dom.

Rest assured that I'm doing my utmost best at keeping everyones payments, exchange rates and shipping costs under tabs. This would be a lot simpler if the bloody dollar would just stay put, whatever that may be.

Well, we could hope for the 98 cent dollar we had a little while ago. 8)

I've been hanging on to a payment in the States for a couple of weeks hoping the dollar will improve.

The report in today's newspapers indicated that we would see the dollar fall in the mid term hitting as low as mid fifties, so I bit the bullet and paid the bill today.

Oh for a crystal ball. :D

The Aussie Dollar is a resource backed currency. China will soon be naming the price it pay for our resources.......I wouldnt expect a marked improvement in our dollar against the greenback.

A bunch of the funds have shown up in my account as of Tuesday morning. I don't have time this morning to write to all of you saying I've received funds, so it's quicker just to say whom I'm waiting on.

I'm still waiting funds from:
  • Xray
    Sebastian
    AP
    Craig
Gotta run, and will update everyone tonight if there is a change.

Many thanks

Martin, Dave is in the UK and I think the arragemnt is that his order will ship direct form Bob's supplier in Crackinpitch Legspinnerville India to him England. May be that Dave needs to send Bob funds direct once his total is know. I would imagine that shipping from the post office in Hityasixfoursinarow Perover to AU would be different than it would be to the UK.

Cheers

Kim
