I had a look around at those Millers Falls planes Lillian and they do look like good value for money, it is interesting that there are fewer than Stanley and probably rarer but still cheaper. I was impressed with this one in the pic and was tempted to buy it just cause it looks so cool for a plane.

I've not seen that style before. It looks like the handle is aluminum. I would definitely need to hold that one first before putting money down.
But you are right though, it does look cool. There is something about it that reminds me of Flash Gordon.

Well, I can't see paying a lot for a plane that is a copy of one made years ago.
If ya got the bucks, go for the bronze.
These Stanleys are everywhere.
Oh, the older ones are better, imo.
The low angle one is best.
The tall angle one, which is shorter, has its uses, sidewall shingling.
Lateral adjustment? If there is none,
you can move the blade side to side with your own fingers.

 I reckon you are spot on there Kim, it would look great with my jacket but after looking at what they want for them I doubt I will be buying one as I reckon they are probably almost as expensive as a Norris infill. The art deco collectors would get a ebay one before I got my wallet out.

The handles Lillian, were made from "Tennessee Eastman tenite #2" :?

Jim, I haven't a clue as to what that is, and I speak Southern too. So I Googled it.

Eastman is the company, Tennessee is the plant location and tenite is a cellulosic thermoplastic first created in 1929 for use in the manufacture of consumer goods. It is manufactured by Eastman Chemicals, using softwood as a raw material.
