I've seen teak with a bit of flame but never anything like that. You could maybe rule teak out with a burning splinter test. Cut a splinter of teak the size of a match light the end and let it burn horizontally for about 15mm, teak will hold red ember that glows for awhile then leaves a cream ash behind.
I know someone who tried to use teak for a guitar but it sounded crap, although it has been used for necks on some fine electric guitars.
