Hi Liam, your moving along fine.

You asked about a look at my parlor, these are the pics so far. Still a bit of work on the braces in the top, back will hopefully go on today. The back is English Walnut, customer bought it for a gunstock. When first bookmatched it had no tap tone at all [just a dull thud] my 3mm MDF template had more ring to it, but when cut to size and braced and carved it came to life. Top is Ceder, sides NGR.

Braces in the soundhole area also contribute to the tops vibrations, I believe.

cheers alan, i've got a copy of that diagram in a book i've got. Unfortunately its a little light on for details. No overall dimentions or scale length. it looks as though its of a larger guitar than mine so i've reduced the brace heights .

the box it closed now, top braced ended up as 4 ladders, 14x7mm, top cut to a triangle/ point (what ever that's called). bridge patch 2mm tapering out to bugger all where it meets the linings. if the whole thing explodes i'll have gained a valuable bit of knowledge for everyone.

here's some photos of things as they stand now, i'm waiting for my binding channel cutting bits to arrive and i've also got to build a rig to do it. if had as many jigs as i've got self made guitars i'd need another room to house them.

Taffy
From a distance that is a nice looking blue rosette in that cedar top. Can you give us a closer look of how it is made up?

Mark
