Ok, there you go...I stand corrected. Kim, this IS crotch wood.
Though, in my defense, it doesn't look like the other pieces of crotch wood that are here in our shop. It is beautiful, and once again Larry, my thanks for this stellar set.
And yes, this is the set purchased in 2006 at GAL. First wood I bought.
I had the good fortune to be just down the aisle from Larry, and saw this piece before anyone else had a chance to grab it up.
I will say this: for all the wildness in the grain of this back, it was quite stable, w/ very little movement, and almost no potato chipping.
