A question about the bridge. I have the Book at home and have just started reading the build volume and will then tackle the design one. Was the use of ebonized walnut rather than ebony mainly for a lighter bridge?

Yes. Ebony is a much denser wood than walnut. Ive stopped using ebony on my bridges and use walnut or blackwood. On my steel strings when I use walnut I make the top layer of the bridge rosewood...it's a bit more resistant to dings than walnut.

Re The Books.....I'd start reading the Design Book first.....there's frequent reference back to same in The Build Book.
