Some activity in my workshop at last
Some activity in my workshop at last
Well it's been nearly a year since my new house build finished and it's taken this long to get my workshop reinstalled and muster up the motivation to get back building. A few pics of goings on.....
Build 1: A falcate braced classical. Making up a bridge for same.
Build 2: A falcate braced Parlour guitar. The original bridge bugged me so I shaved it off and made up a new one. Build 3: A Gore style OM cutaway Project 4: Major service on a 1997 Fender Strat. Someone's done a sh*t job on the shielding so I plan to tidy up same. I'm also considering replacing pickups with a set of EMGs

Nice simple classical bridge jig, like it
Re: Some activity in my workshop at last
You've got more projects on the go than I have !!
I like that parlour guitar, have to make a nylon strung one of those one day.

The jig is basically straight out of Trevor Gores "The Books". The wedges holding the blank in place I dont think are in Trevors original jig.

I can see Martin that there much action going on in the workshop that is keeping your focused on the wonderful and very rewarding guitar building processes. I like how you have your working areas set up.

Good on you Martin. That's not just a bit of activity!
I am myself decanting back into the shop now the gardening season is ending in this neck of the woods.
Cheers Dave

Its great to see your workshop in full swing and projects on the go Martin. Have you been working on the classical guitar for long? It looks great.

A couple of years now. Right now I'm busy making up a new neck for the thing. The old neck's heel block never fitted tightly against the body and the holes for the bolt down tenon were too close to the heel block to allow easy tightening of the bolts.
