Hi,
Has anybody used vulcanised fibre sheet to laminate guitar sides?
Cheers

Re: Fibre Sheet for side lamination
I did a parlour guitar with laminated sides a few years back...think I used some macrocarpa side sets for the inner lamination and some extra thin Indian Rosewood side sets I got from LMI for the outer layer. I'm not sure if fibre sheet would be stiff enough to work for laminated sides.

Fibre sheet would probably be quite damping too

LMI sell it - its called Fish paper in the US, and gasket paper in the UK. The gasket paper I bought in Oz has a more rubbery feel and is a bit different.
If you're trying to laminate the top and back purfling into the sides you're best off buying from the UK or USA. If you just want to laminate sides, you don't need to use gasket paper.
What are you working towards? How thick do you want to laminate? Are you using double sides? Triple sides? Veneer?
