A new book on building ukuleles
Gentles,
I have a new book on building ukuleles ready for the printers, titled The Ukulele- an Illustrated Workshop Manual. I am pre-selling copies through a Kickstarter project, with the hope of selling enough to pay for the print run. It is the first comprehensive book on ukulele building that will be available and covers soprano, concert, tenor and baritone sized instruments with a variety of methodologies which can be mixed and matched as the user prefers. Full size plans will be included in a separate envelope glued side the back cover.
There is some info and a few sample chapters which can be downloaded from my website
http://www.mcdonaldstrings.com/ukulelebook.html
and the Kickstarter project is at
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gr ... he-ukulele
Feel free to tell your friends and share on Facebook and other social media.
Cheers

Good luck Graham,
On the Kickstarter page I was almost scared away when I saw the $464. Then I scrolled further down the page and found the options on the right hand side
Cheers

Graham, what are the chances of getting a signed copy? I totally understand if you would rather not. The wife worked at a book shop for years, and I know what an author goes through when signing stock.

Lillian, I would be delighted to sign a copy for you, the only difficulty being that the copies ordered through Kickstarter for backers outside Australia will be mailed out from a mailing house in the US, probably in Los Angeles. That said, I am hopeful of getting the Guild of American Luthiers (GAL) convention in Tacoma WA in July next year and could sign a copy then.
Cheers

Oh Graham, that would be wonderful. I would love the chance to meet in person. If you are there, lunch is on me.
A trip Down Under sounds wonderful, but if I'm patient, he'll be about a 30 minute drive from my house. But if we win the lottery, oh hell yeah we're coming down. Might even warn you lot before we get in country.kiwigeo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 2:54 pmLooks a good excuse for trip to Australia Lillian

Grahm,
I see the Kickstarter project didn't proceed, sadly. I would still like to get a copy (or the e-book) if you have it available. Please let us know.
