Thickness gauge

Post by Saint » Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:01 pm

After much umming and ahhing about the cost of a proper gauge and then again in at the potential inaccuracies of a cheaper Chinese offering, I decided to make my own. I could make another one if anyone is interested. It works perfectly and appears to be plenty accurate enough for my purposes. It has a 300mm throat. I toyed with the idea of a lifting lever but I honedtly don't think it's necessary. PM me if you are interested.

The thickness gauge looks great. I like the gauge, who did you purchase the gauge from? I would like to up grade my gauge.

Hi Wayne. After a bit of research, I ended up buying it from Amazon.com.au. It's a Neoteck digital indicator Model: NKT021, sold by neoteckau
Here's the link:

Your guitars look incredible. I'm very much at the other end of your journey. Made one onto number two, in the classical genre.
Cheers

Thanks for the link. I just received my new gauge today.

Thanks for the good guitar comments. Looking forward to seeing a posting of one of your classical guitar builds.
