Donations drive to help cover forum running costs

Post by kiwigeo » Sat Apr 14, 2018 9:57 am

As some of you will be aware Bob has sadly decided to relinquish hosting and direct management of the ANZLF forum. Apart from a fund raising in 2015 to cover cost of some hardware upgrades the cost of running the forum has been borne largely by Bob. Myself and Jeremy are currently the forum’s admins and the forum and hosting has been transferred from Bob’s server to a commercial hosting service. With the changes have come a slight increase in running costs which is why Jeremy and I have decided to solicit donations from members to cover our costs. Our main costs include Hosting Fees, domain registration, backup service and a few other bits and pieces that are required to run a robust and secure forum.

We are not setting a fixed amount for donations – if you’re doing it hard then that’s ok. If you can only spare a few dollars that’s also fine. Donations can be directed to a Paypal account that we’ve setup – donations@anzlf.com
If Paypal isn’t an option for you then please contact myself or Jeremy and we can arrange an alternative method for forwarding of donations.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from you.

EDIT:
Payment link available here https://www.paypal.me/anzlf

Hi Yakka,

The Paypal account is active and I successfully forwaded funds to same the other day. Just now I saw a message on my phone informing me another member has just put through a donation.

Let me know via PM if you continue having issues and we'll look at other options for donating.

Cheers Martin

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for the donations, the response has been fantastic.

I have created a link to make it easier to donate. I will also be adding a permanent donate button to the site over the following week.

You can make a payment by clicking the following link:

My apologies Bob, I should have put in a proper link. Jeremy has posted the link that will take you straight through to Paypal.

I'm having terrible trouble trying to get paypal working having not used it in years, changed phone number etc ad nauseam, but I really would like to contribute. Any chance of a PM or an email with EFT details and I could just transfer you some money?

It's been awhile since I have visited the forum. I just saw this post. We would like to donate some product to any of the admins of ANZLF if it would help. If any of you are in need of soundboards or bracewood, We would be VERY happy to throw in some extras that you folks could auction off or outright sell. We would cover any additional shipping costs from the excess weight of the donated products, over whatever order there was. Plus there is a current store-wide ASW sale in conjunction with Earth day/Earth week.. I posted a link to that newsletter URL. elsewhere in the forum. sale coupon good through Monday April 30th http://bit.ly/2vUpMyY

Thanks Rocket,

The response to the request for donations has been great and will mean we can meet running costs for some time to come.

A huge thank you to everyone who tipped in money to our Paypal account to help fund the running of the forum. As well as donations from long serving members there were also quite a few donations from many who have either recently joined the forum or have been members for some time but keep a low profile. Thank you again to everyone...your donations are much appreciated.

Cheers Martin, Jeremy...and Bob

Hi Dave,

If you've already donated we're ok...if you haven't donated and want to tip a few bucks in the hat we won't say no :)

At the moment thanks to our members who generously donated we have enough funds to cover forum running expenses for at least the next couple of years.

Cheers and thanks

Good Morning Martin.
It's been a few years since your last post in this thread. Thought I'd pop in and ask how are things going? Is it time to toss a few coins in the coffers?

Hi Lillian,

Yes we're always open for donations. I've had a few come in of late...many thanks for your donations.

The money donated is used to cover the ongoing fees we pay to the company hosting our website.
