Flat back

The thought occurred to me that a flat back arch top would be a viable build, i've seen a few fatback double basses around the traps that have done the job, just asking the question,, has anyone on here had any experience with the " FLAT BACK ARCHTOP GUITAR" ? any thoughts offered will be gratefully received..

No experience here, but I started to build one a few years back, had a mishap with the SafeTPlaner on the Soundboard and it didn't happen.
