Looking for repairer - antique banjo mandolin

Post by brian64 » Sun Jan 05, 2014 5:40 pm

Hi All,

Happy new year!

One of my contacts has asked me to repair a torn vellum on an antique banjo mandolin - I have no experience in this area. If any of you can do this sort of repair, or know someone who can in Melbourne, please contact me (bdguitars@gmail.com) and I'll pass the details on.

Here's a photo of it.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the offer of assistance Steve,

I'm a bit wary of trying new things on other people's valuable (sentimental and/or financial) instruments. If you want the job I can see if they want to sent it to WA...just let me know what the cost of the repair would be and they can decide if the cost of postage each way isn't too much of a deterrent.

Regards,

Brian.

Dont really want the job, because its school holidays we are in-undated with repairs from schools

If your really stuck, then send it over, cost to do a skin is $90, it really is a relatively easy thing to do, just takes a bit of time to do it, skin will cost you about 30 dollars, I can post one of them if you wish
