Who needs a mould

Post by simso » Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:23 pm

School holidays start next week, so my youngest has very little too do, Im going to task him with cutting things out with the laser.

My thought process is if anyone needs a mould or two now is the time to speak up. Cost = mdf wood price only and shipping to you so probably 5-10 bucks for the mould (shipping unknown)

The design will be yours, say for example you want a mould 40mm tall, Ill have the youngun cut 7 exact copies at 6mm thickness to be glued up.

If your interested send me a PM, only possible in the next two weeks of school holidays

Will the laser cut fibreglass circuit board blanks? What if they are coated with copper for traces? Nickel silver? Carbon fibre? All dimensions 2mm thick approx.

Not just moulds, ive had a request for some template overlays for cutting out with a router, yes we can do those as well, be that for tracing onto a job or for routing onto the job,

Ideally ideally ideally a dxf file, some pdf's work but not many, our cnc machines (routers / lasers) recognise dxf's

Radius is not possible with most standard lasers (my two included), there is a laser that can do it, special 3d carving laser, that runs at about 100k.

My boy so far has 17 moulds to make, that will keep him busy for a little while

Welcome, but there is an alternative motive

It keeps him busy at work and out of my hair during the school holidays :D

He has also asked can he build a ukelele and make a new neck for his electric guitar, not after much is he.

Nice to see the tanning bed in action Steve, looks like it would do a fair tattoo as well. Very generous of you mate even if you have ulterior motives.
