Thanks, Jeremy. Looks similar. I'll check into it. Maybe chase up a stronger motor as well? Know a place in Lismore that has heaps of used stuff cheap.....

Well I have been resawing like a Madman , The now Infamous Taree Myrtle , The King Billy Jeff passed on because it was too thin to resaw , some Huon and some slabs of Ancient Kauri and anything else wide enough to Turn into B&S sets , I can only say that the saw works as well as Laguna claims--- what a ripper :D , The woodrat Dropped By This afternoon , I had enough restraint to leave him one slab of AK 300mm wide , which he had a go at , I think the Woodrat's going home to Call Gregory's, GazM standby The Woodrat will have a saw for sale soon.

I'll let John give his appraisal , but judging by the smile on his face while slicing up the AK I think he was pretty impressed.

Cheers,
Paul .

Hi Paul, Good to see you again this afternoon...and have a go on the Lagune 14 SUV....yes its a ripper alright...hard to get my head around a 14 inch resaw capacity! Not that us lutherie chaps would need such a capacity unless we all start making cellos!
I was impressed with the obvious design brief that they had to make a saw that would really resaw with minimal effort right out of the box. I have two bandsaws and both of them are modified to be able to resaw. Especially the 14inch Jet that I have had since new that I have customised to be able to resaw. The main downfall it had was not enough power...I retrofitted it with a 2 hp motor but the Laguna has a 3 Hp Leeson motor made in the USA that is Grunt with a capital G. The Guides are also very nice high tech ceramic ones of Lagunas own design and the quick blade tensioner as standard is a great thing to have as standard.
Well done on your purchase Paul....I am sure that it will serve you well and you will enjoy using it for a long long time...

Cheers

Hi Paul,

just a couple of questions - I noticed that you had a standard fence - have you fitted a higher fence to do your resawing? I'm contemplating getting the 8" high fence when my machine turns up and would like to know what you have done.

Also, where are the pictures of the resawn timber? Aren't you going to show some off? :)

Steve.

Steve, I don't think you will see any pictures of the Infamous Tiger Myrtle, Paul is obviously keeping it under lock and key
