acoustic, nylon.
maybe just a cheapie, but it looks like natural timber. nice base but treble a bit dull.
picked it up in a garage sale. the seller said they bought it in Sydney maybe ten years ago, and reckoned it was aussie made.
label reads
"Lyric, Handmade, Model 3".

Re: anyone know this make of guitar - Lyric?
I may be way off, but i vaguely remember hearing about a "lyric guitar company" that made classical guitars prior to WW1. Could this guitar be of that vintage?
Re: anyone know this make of guitar - Lyric?
interesting suggestion.
hard to guess its age. some things about it - the look of the wood, the condition of the tuning screws, the look of the label - say that it's possible, but that makes it nearly a hundred years old. and the nylon soft case doesn't support the idea.

That doesn't look like a vintage instrument, more of a 1980s asian mojo judging by the age and thickness of the lacqer. Is it a plywood top? And a century ago people didn't advertise that guitars were handmade - it was the default. There is/was an asian company marketing under the name of Lyric. I have seen some on ebay and you will probably find some now if you search the name.

I'm following an interesting, and likely, possibility.
I found an ad for a very similar guitar and inquired about its provenance from the seller.
The label is identical, except being model 4 rather than 3.
Apparently hers was bought from the Sydney School of Classical Guitar in the mid 80's. Her understanding was that the school had their own line of student instruments made by their own luthiers.
Anyone heard of this, or know of a contact for that school?
