I generally build "heavy metal" guitars - however, if you're clever about a few if the choices, one of them being the neck pickup, you can take a guitar like this and play anything.Sergy wrote:Hi demonx,
A good photo report! You showed in detail the construction process.
Everything is wonderful!
I have questions ...
I know sound of Fender or Les Paul, and know the music for what it can be used ...
But what is the sound of your guitar? What it for timbre?
For what music, can use this guitar?

Is that like Beethoven on Steroids? You kids of today, I don't know![]()
Back in my day it was either just metal or it wasn't
Mind you, as the first to be coined with the term 'Heavy Metal', most of Page's riff were blues derived.
What I do is not to everyones tastes - but the world needs variety! Some people love it just cause it's different to the norm.Nick wrote:
Not sure I like the Laminated into Maple look though, but viva la difference!
Shredding and classical are about as compatible as a fart in a space suit.demonx wrote:

Did I translate all that correctly Martin? You are not a fan of neo classical music? Just want to be sure. It's hard to tell with you trying to be PC about it.kiwigeo wrote:Shredding and classical are about as compatible as a fart in a space suit.demonx wrote:

Purely personal taste of course but for me listening to Yngwie destroy a piece of classical music is about as pleasurable as eating dog vomit from a kiwi cockies gumboot.
PS I like your guitars much more than I like Yngwie's music
Thats so the dog wont eat itjeffhigh wrote:bloody big capacitor in there

You'll find that most high quality guitars have larger capacitors. Not so much factory made guitars, but those that are handmade boutique style.Tod Gilding wrote:Is That Capacitor on Steroids ???? What is It ?
Since I'm using clear transparent black cavity covers, I have to have some neatness to the wiring. The guitar I did the day before this one is much neater.kiwigeo wrote:Wiring and soldering look very neat.....something I like.
Where can I source these Russian Monsters ?demonx wrote:You'll find that most high quality guitars have larger capacitors. Not so much factory made guitars, but those that are handmade boutique style.Tod Gilding wrote:Is That Capacitor on Steroids ???? What is It ?
This one is a Russian Capacitor (they apparently make some of the best available) - its 0.022uf, old style paper dipped in oil capacitor, as opposed to the cheap quality modern ceramic things.
