I have access to a desktop 3D printer here at work, mucho dollero's. Used it only once to make a selector knob for a centrifuge, the centrifuge was that old that spares were no longer available so the 3D printer came in handy there.
I wouldn't call then a production machine but useful for prototyping or needing to make an investment casting for production.
