Hi there and welcome.
I have never seen a teardrop weiss drawing.
You may have to make your own by modifying a standard weiss drawing
Or perhaps Tony Francis in NZ may be able to help.

Hello Jeff

.... I built a Dulcimer some years ago. Did a web search and found some vague plans that did not down load very well. I kind of designed my own and came up with what I though was a "not too bad shape".

Important to know the scale length and how may frets you want (a couple of extra allows you to play different scales). The one I made was from scraps of Tas oak and some sheaoak. It sounded OK

I had a contact (that I have lost since) from a Bill Buttler in Melbourne who makes and sells Dulcimers. He may be contactable ...

Can send some more construction pics if you are happy to see a blind process.

Just a thought. Wood, the right size to build a Weissenborn Guitar is hard to locate. Do a mock up in cardboard first.
Then see if you can find the right size wood.

Also...test the mock up for a good fit on your lap. I've built a few mountain dulcimers and I've found the the teardrop shape is unsteady on the left leg because of it's small footprint. Check it out... an Hourglass shape is much more stable when played on the lap.

Phil.
