End Flanges

Post by lacrombie » Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:10 pm

Hi All,

I am building a buffing machine and require 2 pair of 6" airway steel end flanges. Does anyone know where I can purchase these bad boys?

Hi Leigh, Have you tried eBay? I find its the first place I look for most things now...you can usually find it too!

Hi Leigh, I built mine maybe 10-12 years ago and used 6" grinding discs as shown.

Thanks Taff - that gives me an option. I had a local engineering firm quote me to make 2 pair - $800.

$800......they must be gold plated.

try here: http://www.baylandproducts.com/storepro ... nd_Flanges

If they don't ship overseas then maybe you could talk one of our US members into purchasing the item locally and on-shipping to you.

$800 is the quote you give when you mean to say..'piss off mate, not the least bit interested' but at the same time are living in hope that the one born every minute is the mug now asking you for the big washers.

I would go with Taffy's option...the disk are rated far above the rpm a buff would ever need to go.

Cheers

Yes that was my thoughts Kim. I also use double the thickness mops and they [the discs] also do the job, and have done all this time, the dished side of the disc fits into the flange/boss of the mop like a bum in a bucket.
