Jose Ramirez guitar

Post by auscab » Mon Aug 15, 2011 12:32 am

I got talking guitars with a gent at work a while back, He spotted my no 1 in its case and I took it out and he had a play, He said he would be back with his pride and joy to show me, a guitar he had bought while traveling years back. He bought it direct from the shop in Madrid.
I had a bit of a play and even with old looking strings it sounded pretty loud compared to any classical that I have ever picked up { all cheapies } responsive with good projection may be the right words to describe it.

I asked to take the pictures and said I would post them here in a show and tell
He said it was a student grade guitar and could not remember what he paid for it,
it's not for sale or any thing like that.
I did a bit of a read on wikipedia,
Is this an average guitar and are many seen here ? in Australia .
Or are there plenty of them to be found ?
or a 80s rarity ? Any opinions would be interesting to hear / read , I am mainly reading up on steel string guitars so far.

Even a student model built by the world renowned luthier, well Rob not too many of my friends own one and regardless of its tone or playability it will surely be a valuable instrument.
