I just want to say thank you to all at ANZLF for all your help and support. I new almost nothing about wood let alone luthiery when I joined a couple of months ago,. Now I have 8 tenor uke sets, that I have sawn from tonewoods, that I have selected myself and it is mostly down to you and your support. I just cut the blackwood backs and NGRW sides and 2 more WRC tops. I got 6 slices easily this time. 4mm top to bottom and end to end.
I sawed fretboards and neck blanks from my Australian rosewood slabs. Tonebars braces and bridge pieces out my of offcuts too.
I will switch to my 5/16 blade for a while I think.
Now I have to cut learn how to cut the curved bits. :gui

I certainly am getting some positive out of the place. I don't just want to make a couple of ukes, so with that in mind I want to get each stage own pat and set up for next time as I go.
I wish I found luthiery 40 years ago. Better late than never.

Tonxi, i hear what you're saying, it's great isn't it!! i've been a carpenter for 40 years, always loved my job but lutherie is another dimesion to woodworking that took me by surprise, it has rekindled my passion for timber and what i can do with it. Enjoy!!!! :D :D

Hi Tonxi, I have enjoyed your input to the forum too...its great to see your enthusiasm and growth as a starting craftsman/luthier! As you said better late than never...I myself started to build my first guitar at 40 so I was a late starter too. As a nice side effect,Luthery keeps you sane in this mad world too!
I am glad that the bandsaw resto has been a success by the sound of your previous posts you've nailed the resawing side of the equation which is great. Keep giving us your great posts :)
