Hey all.
I finished a coupla geetars.
I didn't polish either one out,
because they are for me.
EMG pickups are very good!
Very pleased with the sound.
The acoustic one is very balanced,
and I like the way it sounds.
A little tight though.
Plus, it's purty!

G'day Alan,
Good lookin geetars there mate. So where is the sound file? I do like the wood you used to build the lecky!
I'm half way through another weissenborn copy for a good mate. I will post some pics later when the box is closed. All ready to go for closing when the weather is right!
Love your work mate!
Cheers

Re: 2 geets done
Nice job Alan, the solid bodies top is very purrrrdy, Black Walnut crotch ? If I had one critique (and it's just my anal eye so please forgive me
) it's the rear cover plate on the solid body, it's shame it doesn't follow the line of the body. You have beautiful sweeping curves and a cover plate with straight lines. But that's the only thing & you don't even see the damn thing anyway when playing! I too like the silking on the weezy's top, and the rear timber on that little beauty is?

With the Weissenborn you exceeded the allowed amount of silk to be used on a guitar top!
I also like that headplate with the inlaid dots that do underline the wood's own features.
The electric is also a gorgeous one. Very neat design! The pickups are already a great choice just because of the design, they combine perfectly with the wood.

Thanks all!
A coupla things, that Koa Weez was a pain in the butt.
A bunch of problems, and you might be right about the too much silking!
Too stiff maybe? I think I like the wider grained stuff.
I used Old Masters brand varnish, and it really brought out the grain,
and color, especially on dat koa.
I will go rounder on the leeky cover.
Thanks for that idea.
Funny thing, I originally shot ktm 9 on the guitar, and after 8 coats didn't like the look.
So I went back to bare wood, used General finish wipe on poly, and BLING!
Just what I was after.
I left the cavity cover with ktm 9 just for a comparison.
Thanks again!
