Hi all, been off the air for a while, shifting house - from Melbourne to Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem.
I am sure it will work fine. I left my bandsaws at home and will cut what I need in my twice yearly visits home.
Humidity high here - camera lens fogs up pretty quickly as you can see.
Looking forward to resuming work - two dreadnoughts to make this year and an archtop to finish.
Frank
Got our container 2 weeks ago. Lots of adjustment required. Biggest issue is downsizing from 6m x 4m shed in Melb to a store room at our place up here. As you can see below, I won't be doing much in the storeroom - all activities to be done outside. I will need to leave my work table and thickness sander in the carport also. I will just leave lots of things in stackable plastic tubs and pull it out when I need it.New home & workshop

Re: New home & workshop
Hi Frank, I hope that the move went well. I spent 13 years in NT, first 5 years as a soldier, the rest employed as an economist in the NT government. It will be a bit humid this time of the year - but come the dry season, it will be great building weather. Fishing is great up that way as well.

Hey, great to hear from you again.
Glad the move went well. I'm sure everything will fall into place over time and you'll be knocking out those dreadies as good as ever.

Nice to see you have settled in to the land of Yolngu. High humidity, did you get all that rain we got here?

Thanks Jim. Bloody rain, and so undpredictable, then clears up as quick as it arrives but leaves its puddles and mess behind!!.Great to see your operation in Darwin, Jim, thanks for showing me around. I wish I could have spent more time with you. I am already working steadily on my long term Yolnu 'relationships' in the hope that nice timber will start coming my way. But I can see I am going to have to get a reasonable chain saw in order to be able to act quickly.DarwinStrings wrote:Nice to see you have settled in to the land of Yolngu. Shall let you all know when I get my first log.
