Ya Allen,

Thats what one wood think. However Cranrook is in the east Kootenays and wide open, almost desert like.

Nelson is in the west Koots, down in a valley surrounded by 3 mts and has 2 really wet season per year. Once the rains start, the valley clouds over and all that moisture is trapped. Don't last long and well me don't feel like doing mutch when it rains any how. But your right...its a pretty gooder climate for building...but Cranbrook is still better.
