Hi Phil (?), you will see I've moved your post into the builders forum. The gallery is usually the place for finished instruments to be displayed so I felt this a more fitting place for it.
Nice looking ring
, your description is a little cryptic would you care to elaborate on the history behind the pic?

Are you able to edit your posts Taffy? ie can you see an "edit" button on the lower right hand corner of your post? I'm asking because general members may not have that option, or it could be time limited. On my screen I have access to all posts.
You can go back and delete the extra copy of the image you've put in if you like....or the text as well.

Thanks Allen, I don't know what I'm doing half the time, I've cancelled a lot of posts due to loosing track of the photo's I'm posting, or they come out last ones first. I seemed to get along better with the old system.

I hit the edit button as you suggested Allen, it changed my view of things but did not tell me what to do.

Re: Banjo Tone ring
Yes sorry ,silly me I should have looked ,thanks Nick. I have been making tone rings with a wood lathe but since moving to Tasmania I have been with out one . Just got a new engine lathe and have been working on figuring out how to use it .I prefer this system to hand tools .
Re: Banjo Tone ring
If you look at the bottom of the screen once you hit the edit button you will see the 2 instances of the same image listed in the dialoge boxes where you can add comments to each of the pictures. You can remove one of them by hitting the appropriate button.Taffy Evans wrote:I hit the edit button as you suggested Allen, it changed my view of things but did not tell me what to do.
When I get a chance I'll do a new photo posting tutorial for this new software.

If you edit your post it'll ruin my joke Taffy!
Sorry Phil didn't mean to hijack your post.....
Normal service shall now be resumed & we return you back to the scheduled program.
Thanks for the 'fill in' info Phil, as an engineer I wouldn't use anything but an engine lathe, wood lathes always have seemed a little 'vague' to me whereas on an engine lathe you can dial in decimal places of a millimeter, satisfies my anal need for near perfection
