Launceston suggestions...

Post by Ronald_Handmade » Wed Oct 20, 2010 2:10 pm

I'm going to be spending a few days in Launceston next month with the family, and as part of my "Taxation minimisation stategies" I am visiting some furniture workshops/galleries while I'm down there so I can claim at least part of my trip costs back as "self education expenses" (benefits of being a tradie...).

While I'm there, can anyone suggest any particularly "luthiery" stuff in Launceston to check out? Suppliers, luthiers etc?

There's not a great deal of what you are looking for in Lonnie.

Maybe a trip to Gunn's is the best you'll get.

It looks like your typical hardware/tradies place but there is a large shed over the back which may interest you

Gunn's is just on the other side of City Park from the centre of town and they may have a selection of Tasmanian minor species for your perusal.

They did the last time I was there about a year ago. I got some nice Myrtle there.

Regards
Bob, Geelong
