Planes and Shooting Boards

Post by Lillian » Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:26 am

In another thread Sebastiaan shared a link to the build of an old woman's tooth plane. Worth the read, definitely. But if you don't have a shooting board or don't like your set up, you need to read through Derek's threads on making/using shooting boards. I really liked how he modified a record 6 to be used with the shooting board.

He also does a version of an infill plane that I think I might have to take a closer look at. I'm thinking a high angle plane in the future.

His marking knife has the feel of holiday presents written all over it.

Yeah, I thought Derek did a great job and wanted to point some of the lurkers over there. Answers some basic questions that don't always get asked.
