Post by Localele » Mon Jun 22, 2009 7:32 am

Bob's article on the Martin sawmill reminded me to share a link that was shared with me.Oliver 900mm bandsaw at Fairy Meadow in Sydney.$400 at the moment. If you have the room and power this should be the buy of the year.Cheers.

Note sellers comment "will crane onto your vehicle if necessary".

Mmmm it's 3 phase...and I just happen to have 3 phase in my workshop.

Chuck it in the ute. Would only weigh 600 to 700 kgs.Just make sure when you pick it up it is from the bottom.Don't throw a sling around the arm and lift or you may get 2 bandsaws.I also have a company who move machinery for lots of other companies and it doesn't cost all that much.Cheers.

Wow what a monster. It was this model that I started out with many moons ago. I had to get a crane to lift it over the house [now thats a crane], onto a concrete pad outside my workshop and built a shed over it.

I remember I had to spin it by hand to get the speed up or it would blow fuses. I used it for many years and then recycled it into an overhead pin router. Cost me $200.00 back in '77 with a heap of blades.
